Important: Avoid using Yahoo, AOL, Comcast, Gmail, Hotmail and other common email addresses for users in your database

Innovative Mentoring Software uses an enterprise email provider called SendGrid to send emails from the database using your users’ email addresses. Currently, Gmail and Hotmail email addresses work with the IMS database may continue to do so indefinitely. However, other common email providers have implemented policies that do not allow enterprise email providers to send mail on their account holder’s behalf.

We strongly recommend using the email address(es) of a domain you own for your IMS user(s) and avoiding using common email domains to ensure ongoing deliverability of email from your database.

Failure to do so could result in a sudden and unplanned interruption in email service out of the database until you can obtain your own domain and update your database users with their new email addresses.

If you don’t currently have your own email domain or access to your organization’s domain, we strongly encourage you to register for one. When you use your own domain you’ll get better email delivery rates and prevent the potential for interruption of email service from your IMS database as described above.

It’s quick and simple to register a domain, and there are many reputable companies that offer domain registration services.

If you need to convert your users to a domain you own, you (or a user with User Management access) will need to change the email address assigned to each of your users’ profiles:
